This is a tutorial to make a matching tag for the autocromatic background . Starfire is the inventor of this tag but as she told me "I am not a tutorial writer and wouldn't know where to begin." so I'm writing this instead. Although this tutorial is copywritten same as all my others the copywrite is shared by me and Starfire all the same rules still apply.
For this tutorial you will need the autocromatic filter from Namesuppressed
If you have never installed a filter before please check the tutorial on how
to install your first plugin filter.
First create a new image 250x350 with a transparent background
Open the tube or PSP graphic of your choice, for best results chose one that
is kneeling but not wider than it is tall. If you are making this to match your
autocromatic background from the background tutorial use that tube.
Shift+D to duplicate the tube, close the original without saving any changes.
|
First resize the tub you have chosen to use for your tag. Resize by Pixel and set height to apprx 50 pixels less than the height of your New image. |
![]() |
| Ctrl+L or paste as new layer. | |
|
Change opacity of new layer to 33% Go to your layer palet. The layer with the tube you just pasted should be layer 2. slide the bar indicated in the screenshot until it reads 33 |
![]() |
| Ctrl+L again pasting the same image again as a new layer. | Now I want you to mirror image You can find it on the menu bar under Image/Mirror Image or you can Ctrl+M |
|
Now resize image by 75% Make sure you un Check Resize all layers!!! |
![]() |
|
Change layer opacity to 66% This should be the third layer and it should already be active. All you need to do is slide the bar until the opacity number is 66 |
![]() |
| Ctrl+L one more time | This time resize 50% making sure that Resize all layers is unchecked |
| Now using the mover tool |
![]() |
| Create a New rastar layer Layer/New Rastar Layer |
Go to Selections on the menubar and select all |
|
Selection/Modify/contract now invert the selection .... Selection/Invert or Shift+Ctrl+I |
Using the flood fill tool |
|
Now do an inner bevel. Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel Use settings similar to the ones in the screenshot but you don't have to match it exactly. |
![]() |
|
Select none using the text tool Effects/3D Effects/ Inner Bevel Bevel the text like I've shown in this screenshot. |
![]() |
|
Go to Effects/3D Effects/ Drop Shadow Click on the color box and chose a color other than black either light or dark one or the other its up to you. |
![]() |
|
Repeat the dropshadow with the same settings about 1 or 2 times until you like the intensity of the false corona If you have chosen a Dark color do not repeat more than ONCE! |
Now Merge Visible layers Go to Layers/Merge/MergeVisible |
|
Now we do the autocromatic filter Go to Effects/Plugin Filters ![]() Change the Two colors Lightness and Darkness , Make sure the colors compliment each other. If you are making this tag to match the Background tutorial use the same settings as you did for that one! |
|
| Now merge again this time use Merge All (Flatten) |
Now send a message to the group showing off the kewl new tag you just made! |
Thankyou Starfire for telling me how to do this one!!!!
